From Stage to Screen with Kim’s Convenience
In 2011, Kim’s Convenience debuted at the Toronto Fringe Festival. Set in a convenience store in Toronto’s Regent Park, the story revolves around the Kim family. As immigrants from South Korea raising their children in Canada, their store, customers, and community all play a vital role in their family. The play not only offers humour, but also dives into themes of family, cultural identity, and the immigrant experience. This resonates with audiences from many different backgrounds.

En 2016, CBC a adapté la pièce en série télévisée.
