Live Passport Painting at Gallery 235 – book an appointment to sit with visual artist Doreen Wittenbols to have your “passport” portrait painted.

In this live exhibition, Wittenbols playfully reimagines the tightly controlled process of getting a passport in the United States, flipping the bureaucratic power dynamic she has encountered as a non-immigrant in the country. Promising to create eight passport portraits daily at her “migration desk,” visitors will have their portraits mailed to them at the exhibition’s end.

This is a rare opportunity – don’t miss out on a truly original experience inspired by analog photography. This event runs June 1 – September 2.
