Saunders Provincial Recreation Area is accessible by road and water providing access to the North Saskatchewan River for kayaks, rafts, canoes, and riverboats. There are historical attractions in the area including Saunders mine site and townsite. Also, a cairn was erected in honour of the ranger who died while operating the ferry once used here.
